Over the past 10 years, 3 giant armadillos have been lost to fires. It has been decided that 10 ranches around Baía das Pedras, South America, will be trained and equipped to fight fires, starting at the end of June 2021.

In addition to hiring an experienced beekeeper, the association has implemented an app to mitigate threats from giant armadillos to beehives. This digital creation will also be used to maintain regular communication between beekeepers and the Armadillo & Honey project.
