The Yukon is a region of Canada, between Alaska, the Northwest Territories and British Columbia. The annual migration of thousands of caribou, 5,000 km of scenic drive, northern lights and the Klondike Gold Rush of 1898 made this region internationally renowned. This region takes its name “Yukon” from the word Yuk-un-ah which means “big river”, the river which crosses it and continues its course in Alaska.
