Bearded vulture, the return!

First engaged in the rehabilitation of the “Villard de Lans” breed of bovine in the meadows of Vercors, this association had the opportunity, in June 2017, to sponsor one of the two “bearded vulture” chicks released thanks to the Regional Park of Vercors. Affectionate and passionate about "Escampette" and this species, in general, the members of the association have followed training courses with the LPO (League for the Protection of Birds) Drôme, to get to know it better.

After these days of training, these Seeds of Breeders understood the challenge and the difficulty of reintroducing a species. Also, in addition to the Life Gyp'Connect program, they have decided to raise additional funds and seek partners to organize a new release in 2020 with the aim of increasing the chances of this bird settling and reproducing in the Vercors.

To materialize the reintroduction of the bearded vulture in the Vercors, The Le PAL Nature Foundation has completed the necessary funds for a release. Mission accomplished ! Kobalann and Palo-Pala are doing wonderfully. This project is accompanied by regular monitoring of the two birds via a GPS beacon system.
